Graphite materials are commonly used in the transportation industry. It includes different applications for the following:
- Refrigerated Trucks. The refrigeration system of trucks has compressors with graphite seals. Since carbon graphite is naturally chemically inert, it can be used as a sealing to prevent toxic refrigerant from leaking.
- Automobile Turbocharger. Some turbochargers are made from graphite materials to withstand high temperatures.
- Rail Contacts. Carbon graphite is used in rail contact to prevent failure in the rail signaling system. Carbon graphite that is electrically conductive is capable of eliminating arching. Therefore, allowing the signal to transmit clearly.
