Graphite Gasket

Graphite Gaskets

Explore graphite gaskets from EastCarbon, the ideal sealing solution that offers stability in a variety of severe conditions.

Graphite Gasket Manufacturer

Our extensive range of graphite gaskets provides superior alternatives to metallic or asbestos-based sealing options. Thanks to this tough material’s ability to withstand extreme temperatures, aggressive chemicals, and pressure changes, our graphite gaskets are favored in industries worldwide.

Flexible Graphite Sheet Gaskets

Made from expanded graphite, these gaskets are ideal for dynamic seals thanks to their natural lubricating properties.

Graphite Composite Gaskets

We reinforce our composite gaskets with metal like stainless steel or tanged steel for better dimensional stability under high pressures.

Nuclear-Grade Graphite Gaskets

Engineered using high-purity graphite for use in nuclear reactors, where it’s essential to minimize contamination risk.

Coated Graphite Gaskets

For extremely aggressive environments, opt for a graphite gasket with a protective coating such as silicone or PTFE.

Graphite Gasket Material Suitability

When compressed, our soft and flexible graphite gaskets get into irregularities on the contact material’s surface, forming an effective seal. On the other hand, our pure graphite gaskets can be more brittle—though their purity ensures stability in sensitive environments like vacuums or chemical reactors. Our tang or foil-reinforced graphite gaskets offer more rigidity and resistance to pressure.

Custom And Precision-Engineered Graphite Gaskets

In addition to offering standard models of graphite gaskets, we can manufacture gaskets to your technical specifications or drawings. Alternatively, we can reverse engineer a sample you send us. Using advanced software and drawing on decades of expertise, our design engineers can also work with you to create a new product that fulfills your unique criteria.

Ultra-Pure Graphite Gaskets

Composed of up to 99.9% pure graphite, our pure graphite gaskets are used in nuclear, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor manufacturing industries.

Reinforced Graphite Gaskets

Reinforced with stainless steel or carbon steel inserts, these gaskets resist deformation even in high-stress environments.

Tanged Core Graphite Gaskets

Our tanged graphite gaskets are commonly used in high-pressure steam lines and flange joints in heavy industries.

Graphite Eyelet Gaskets

Eyelets protect the gasket from excessive wear around the bolt holes in systems that undergo frequent assembly and disassembly, prolonging the component’s lifespan.

Corrugated Graphite Gaskets

A corrugated profile and high flexibility enable more efficient compression and expansion for a better seal on rough surfaces.

Graphite Gaskets With Foil

Ideal for power generation and petrochemical processing, a layer of metal like nickel or stainless steel increases durability and combines robustness with flexibility.

Polymer-Coated Graphite Gaskets

We add a PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) or silicone coating to enhance chemical inertness and provide a super smooth service for easy installation and removal.

Spiral-Wound Gaskets With Graphite Filler

Suitable for industries including marine and gas, these are ideal for boiler manholes, heat exchanges, and complex equipment exposed to solvents and industrial chemicals.

High-Integrity Graphite Gaskets

High-Integrity Graphite Gaskets

Our reinforced graphite gaskets have excellent load-bearing capacity and high mechanical strength.

Their tanged core boosts thermal conductivity and resistance to compression.

In oxidizing temperatures, they can handle up to 500°C heat.

EastCarbon Graphite Gasket Manufacturing Process

EastCarbon Graphite Gasket Manufacturing Process

The process begins with material preparation and expanding high-purity graphite by heating it to increase its volume and flexibility. The expanded graphite is then compressed into sheets or cut to shape using the latest die-cutting techniques. Reinforcement can be added in the form of foils, mesh, or tanged sheets that are laminated into the gasket for better structural integrity.

“I’m very thankful for the expedited service we received from EastCarbon in relation to our most recent order of PTFE-coated graphite gaskets. The gaskets arrived on the factory floor yesterday and the quality is outstanding.  Account manager Jay was a pleasure to deal with. We agreed quickly on a fair price and he scheduled manufacture within a week.”

Frequent Asked Questions

Can I get the Hs code and a price for custom graphite gaskets?

Yes, please contact us via email, phone, or the contact form on this web page. One of our friendly sales representatives will be happy to assist you with your query and provide an exact quote and timeframe, including shipping to your location.

Are graphite gaskets suitable for food and beverage applications?

Yes, although please note this depends on the particular gasket design and material. Polymer-coated graphite gaskets, particularly ones with FDA-approved coatings like PTFE, are non-toxic and sanitary so are ideal for the food and beverage production and packing industries.

Do graphite gaskets need sealant?

If you’re looking for a seal ring for a head gasket, graphite is a great choice. This is because its naturally lubricating properties work well with the aluminum metal.

Are graphite gaskets good and what are graphite gaskets used for?

Graphite gaskets have a range of incredible properties. They are essentially heatproof and able to withstand a huge temperature range up to 3000°C in inert (non-oxidizing) atmospheres and up to 600°C in oxidizing atmospheres.

Graphite gaskets come in a roll of material sheet, and can also be known as joint sheet gaskets. In other varieties, like spiral wound gaskets, different fillers can be used. For instance, mica graphite is a common choice.

What’s the difference between grafoil vs PTFE?

The primary difference is PTFE is synthetic. Graphite, on the other hand, is a naturally occurring form of carbon. Teflon is a well-known variant of PTFE.
