Graphite Block
Graphite blocks come as solid pieces of material. They are mainly made from either natural graphite or synthetic graphite. For high-purity graphite blocks, East Carbon maintains carbon content at either 99.9% or higher.
Graphite blocks mainly come as extruded sections which are in cuboid or cubic shapes. Depending on your unique requirements, they are machined to meet your dimensional specifications.

Types of Machine Graphite Blocks
East Carbon offers three main types of machined graphite blocks:
- Fine-grained graphite
- Medium grained graphite
- Coarse-grained graphite
For more information on grain size, your graphite block manufacturer will guide you accordingly and give you more recommendations. Additionally, you may also choose vibrated graphite blocks, extruded graphite blocks, molded graphite blocks, or Isostatic graphite blocks.

How to Choose High-quality Graphite Block
There are many factors you must consider when choosing graphite blocks such as:
- Grain type and size vary depending on the manufacturing capability
- Consistency in the grain structure
- Ability to cut the block to unique specifications of customers
- Consider compressive strength, flexural strength, electrical resistivity, and bulk density
- Check if the manufacturer offers specialty graphite blocks
Applications of Graphite Blocks
East Carbon graphite block is commonly used in:
Furnace
They are commonly used in graphitization furnaces. Apart from other metallurgical furnaces, you can use these graphite blocks in crucibles.
Usually, they form an important part of furnace lining and other heat exchanger systems.
Other Industries
Chemical, electrical, and semiconductor industries use graphite blocks during various processes such as part treatments.
